Glena Andrews, PhD, Licensed Psychologist, Neuropsychologist, Certified Forensic Examiner, Lake Oswego
Most people believe they know what these terms mean and that we can tell when a person is engaging in one or more of them. This session will explain the differences as seen by neuropsychologists (and sometimes others) and why it is important that the individuals conducting the evaluations understand their meanings and uses.
Glena Andrews, Ph.D., MSCP, ABPP, was trained as a neuropsychologist at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and Fuller Graduate School of Clinical Psychology in Pasadena, CA. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology Fuller Graduate School of Clinical Psychology. She holds a post doctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology. She has been a researcher in the areas of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Dysgenesis of the Corpus Callosum, and physiological responses (EEG, ECG, EDA) for most of her career. She is the researcher for the FAS BeST, a screener for detecting the behavioral profile of individuals with prenatal exposure to alcohol. Research has found that 60% of those with FAS will be involved in the legal system, and FAS individuals are believed to make up 30% of defendants. Dr. Andrews is trained, has taught, and practices as a neuropsychologist. She was an undergraduate and and doctoral level professor of psychology at four universities. From 2021–2023, she worked as a neuropsychologist in the US Air Force hospital at RAF Lakenheath, England, with a focus on pain management. She began working for Oregon attorneys in 2018, conducting neuropsychological evaluations. In October 2023, she began working full-time, conducting forensic neuropsychological evaluations. Dr. Andrews is Oregon certified as a forensic evaluator.
