Science vs. Stigma: Navigating Childhood Substance Exposure
Emily Wulff, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Health Share Oregon, Portland
When childhood substance exposure is alleged, misinformation often outpaces medical reality. This presentation provides family defense teams with fact-based information about childhood substance exposure, separating scientific evidence from prevalent myths. Wulff will explore the actual short- and long-term risks associated with exposure during pregnancy and childhood and provide an in-depth look at toxicology testing. Participants will leave with a stronger, science-based understanding of medical data and outcomes, enabling them to evaluate and respond to Child Welfare reports with objective accuracy.
