Daniel J. Sheridan, PhD, RN, FAAN, JS Net Associates, Cave Creek, Ariz.

Join OCDLA and Dr. Sheridan as he covers this important topic. Originally presented in December, Dr. Sheridan has proposed making this available to the entire OCDLA membership, and we are grateful to his dedication to educating our defense community.

Daniel J. Sheridan, PhD, RN, NREMT, FAAN is the President of JS Net Associates, LLC, a lecture/consulting company focused on forensic case reviews and multidisciplinary forensic education. Dr. Sheridan taught forensic nursing at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and the Texas A&M University College of Nursing from 2001 through 2019.

At both universities, Dr. Sheridan’s clinical teaching and research areas include bruise and injury identification, using alternate light to see cutaneous bruises no longer visible in white (normal) light, intimate partner violence, adolescent and adult sexual assault examinations, and determining accidental from intentional injury in vulnerable populations.

Dr. Sheridan has over 40-years of clinical experience working with survivors of domestic violence, family violence, elder and vulnerable abuse/neglect and sexual assault. He has created and managed two hospital-based family violence intervention programs, the first in Chicago, Illinois and the second in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Sheridan has published more than 50 clinical and research articles on nursing’s role in abuse and forensics and has given over 600 invited lectures on these topics nationally and internationally.  Dr. Sheridan is a former Board President of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) and a former Board Member of the National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA).

This program will be recorded and made available to OCDLA members only.
